ACCREDITED ON-LINE SPILL RESPONSE  COURSE

Computer - Tablet - Mobile

Spill Risks from your OPERATIONS?
Fuel & Oil spills from vehicles/plant/procedures-equipment, storage of fluids, solvents and chemicals and accidental spills can all pose an issue to workers and the environment if they are released.

Being trained and equipped to respond is vital!

This Accredited Course provides for all types of spills "it is driven with videos and procedures"

ALL Fluid Spills have the potential to impact ourselves, the environment and the surrounding infrastructure …..

Oils and Chemicals - fire, explosion, burns, reactions, vapours, pollution of soil, air & water

Foodstuffs  – slippages, odours — milk in the environment is worse than an oil spill.

Body Fluids  - can lead to contamination that are toxic

So attending to spills of fluid is vitally important, with a specific plan of action and the right resources

Important Note: Whilst our e-learning course covers recommended “Spill Response Plan” information, legislation requires Companies to have their own site-specific Plan and instructions, based on the spill risks present. It is encouraged to make this available to employees at the time of training, so they are aware of what is required to follow in the event of a spill. Please contact us if you require further information and assistance with your Spill Response Plan.

There are many types of spills and each Spill Type may require a specific spill response. In the training, we look at these various Types and provide an appropriate suggested guide to that response.

"All to help ensure the best preparation, understanding

and response"

As a reference…….

Under the WHS Act, a person conducting a business or undertaking has the primary duty to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that the health and safety of workers and other persons are not put at risk from work carried out as part of the conduct of the business or undertaking. This includes ensuring the safe use, handling and storage of substances……And the provision of any information, training, instruction or supervision that is necessary. OSH Regulations (WA) and OHS Regulations (VIC) also have similar statements and codes.

  • This training should include (but not limited to):
  • SDS access & understanding
  • specific substance information
  • safe handling practices
  • proper use of PPE & spill equipment
  • procedures in a spill incident

Further information to consider…….

With the strong focus on safety and environmental protection where chemical and fluid spill risks are concerned, preparing employees to respond is of vital importance.

If there are these situations where spills may occur, then being prepared, trained and having a current and practiced Spill Response Plan to follow — will help with the desired outcome

As mentioned, compliance with the WHS & OHS Regulations and meeting the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act & Aust. Standards is also a goal to achieve, bringing a level of “defence”
